Slash Commands

Slashcommands was an internal documentation app that I built that stored all the commands for the suite of games at Daybreak Games.

While I was working as a Technical Support Member I worked closely with the In Game Support and QA Teams. There was a constant need to look up and find the terminal commands that admin users could use.

They were documented throughout internal wiki pages, excel documents and frankly word of mouth was the most common.

They were not readily available in the game client because I can only suspect that the developers did not want them to be data mined.

So, I built slash commands. It is a simple app built with Node.js, MySQL, React and bootstrap.

Slashcommands was my first full stack application that I was paid for and where I started to consider myself a junior developer. It was spun up on Daybreak's internal DevOps tool and the code was maintained in perforce. In hindsight I would have probably used a pre-built tool for the commands instead of building something from scratch.
