The service myself and my team did for this class was list donated items for sale for the Homeless To Forever foundation. The foundation has had these items for years and have been unable to move them via the retail store front so, the wanted to try selling them online. They have tried doing so in the past but they had trouble understanding the shipping process and ending spending more on shipping than they ended up getting for the items they sold.

## What went well?

We were able to list dozens if not hundreds of items on eBay and Etsy. We were able to coordinate with the site administrator and several of the items we listed sold. We were able to provide an SOP for shipping that the service provider understood. At the end of our week not only did we sell hundreds of dollars worth of items but, we trained other volunteers on the process so they can continue with our process.

What was the most impactful part?

Hopefully the training. While we were able to find short term success during our 25 hours of volunteer hours. The real gain will be the knowledge that we hopefully translated to them so they can continue to list and sell donated items.

What challenges did you face?

The biggest challenge was technical literacy. Obviously, if that was not a challenge this would not have been a project at all but, getting all the information we needed to list the items for the foundation was a challenge. Explaining the shipping process was a challenge. Explaining how we were listing the items so they were not charged for shipping was a challenge.

There were several challenges that were close to being blockers but, we overcame them.

What advice do you have for future SL students?

When working with less technical persons it is vital to be patient and meet them where they're at even if it does not make sense or if it is not the most efficient. Keep your eye on the goal and make iterative improvements.
